The D8238 Key Fob is compatible with the D8201, D8201W, D8203, and D8203W and GS3 Proximity Readers. Unobtrusive and compact it fits on a key ring, and is often used where photo ID is not required. Each key fob is supplied with its 26-bit Wiegand code on a removable label. As an alternative to the traditional mechanical key, millions of Stanley PAC proximity cards and fobs are used by people as an easy and reliable means of gaining access to their places of work and other secured access points e.g. car park barriers and turnstiles. The passive proximity technology in the key fob requires no batteries or physical contact with the reader; this helps assure that the key fobs are virtually wear-free and will provide years of service with no maintenance backed by a lifetime warranty. Robust, world-class construction combined with advanced technology and a pre-programmed unique identification number without site codes, makes programming easy and copying almost impossible. Together with the access control system, the key fob enables a user's movements to be monitored and the building protected. The Key Fob need only be held near the proximity door reader for the code to be read and access granted or denied within 0.5 of a second. In the event that the token is lost or stolen, it can easily be replaced and the lost token access privileges, simply and instantly revoked.
